Early last year Money Gang co-founder, Real Sadam lost his young bro Salim after he complained of a headache and was taken to Matter Hospital and at around 11pm, he was reported dead. One year down the line Money Gang head Baks150 releases a tribute which he recorded in November 2012 and says this has been on his play list everyday.
“I did this single last year at Buju’s studio and I always
felt the pain every time I listened to it with my homies and at the crib and
every time I thought about the late Salim, God Rest His Soul In Peace I go back
to my records and play this. Salim was a cool kid man. I talked to him three or
four times when I went to visit the homie Real and we could sit down and talk
and he always asked me to bring him to the studio one day which I was going to
do but only God knows what is in store for us. This is not the best I could do
but I can’t let it all go without doing something for the people I knew and
still know. They still live in my heart. Last year was a long year for me and
my bro. I lost a few homies, people that I grew up with being killed in front
of their house that’s the Late Kasim and after that incident I had to reflect
back to my life and it’s a shame how we learn after something bad has happened.
Same year I lost my neighbor who was like a brother to me Abubakar Sisosko, God
Rest His Soul In Peace and his story is sad .I blame the Government for that.
He got killed in November 2012 by Bandits in Suguta Valley at the age of 23, a
young homie who never got to spend his first salary on himself is now gone just
after one or two months of working for the Kenya Police. This is my true story
and it aint no song, it is my true story. Rest in Peace to all my homies and if
you ever lost someone close, this is for you and them. One Love”
